I’ve certainly daydreamed over the course of my career about lifestyle sessions. They’re my favorite. Not only because it’s the epitome of documentary style portraiture but because the setting is on point. I love these downtown homes. All of them. They all have stories to share that end up contributing to the families that I get to work with. I think often people don’t feel like their homes are perfect so they don’t let me come in and document things as they are but I feel like we should all push through this notion and let life be captured the way that we live it out.
This family is precious. They spend much time dwelling in the walls of their home. Jeremy + Diane homeschool their children, they just welcomed their fifth into their lives. Diane paints in their attic loft and Jeremy writes words so well and is on a mission to do good things for and within downtown Colorado Springs. Their children’s personalities stand out among the mix, Emma is strong and independent, Stella carries a tender spirit, Lincoln has a charming little smile and is full of life- he exudes joy, sweet Liv is just that. SWEET. And oh their little Pax is smothered in actual love and I hope to experience he grows to be. Diane is doing the hard and holy things of life. She’s teaching her children, curating their home, making meals and keeping the home moving efficiently. She is strong and wise. Jeremy is keeping the children cultured and saturated in music all should know and allowing pause for things like art and intentional time with their children.
Life is sweet.
Life is fleeting.
These children’s lives will be memory books of intention and beauty.
They’ll look back with goodness.
