Luke is my handsome cousin and Sevin is his sweetheart of a girlfriend. I love + feel so special when family and friends ask me to photograph them. It means that I get to spend a little extra time with them and when I go to their homes in years to come I often get to be reminded of our time by seeing all of their cutie faces printed and hung on the walls.
We didn't get to spend a ton of time together during this session because it was literally just an hour and a half before we had to be to the airport but that's okay, it was freezing. Lukie has these sweet expressions that make me think of him as just a little guy and Sevin adores him.. You can see it in the way she looks at him, regards him, talks to him. They're loving one another well and in relationship, that's all you can ask for. I'm so thankful for these two getting to do some of life together... I look forward to seeing what unfolds for them.
Love you two!
I met Seth when he was a 15 year-old high school kid. He's my husband's younger brother and he's such a great guy. Although the Mortenson's come from New York, many of the kids have made it out to Colorado. A few years ago, I met Lauren at a photoshoot and we connected on Facebook shortly after that. I like to think I had a little something to do with Seth and Lauren meeting. Somehow they realized through social media that they went to the same high school and were both living in Colorado. They connected and the rest, they say, is history. They'll be getting married back in New York in the spring. I loved getting to spend some time photographing them for their engagement pictures during our recent camping trip in Steamboat Springs. They're a beautiful couple and I'm so grateful I get to call them family. - Abby
...Middle school for her, high school for him - this is where they met... End of high school for her and the start of college for him - their paths crossed and things progress. They're young, in love and ready for the life length of sweet marriage NOW. These two were a gift to spend time with an so easy to photograph. Cody is quiet and steady and Kylie is saucy and head over heels. It's like, they cannot get enough of one another! Their conversation's are drenched in support and inclusion of one another. Couples drenched in sweetness are my favorite to catch a glimpse of and spend some quality time with.
A few shots during a little cocktail hour and I learned that they're off to elope in November. With a small group of family and a few friends supporting them in Breck, I love that their focused on the sweetness of the vows and the significance that they offer alone. Honeymoon? They're jumping on a plane to explore the beauty of Thailand. So many adventures ahead and I'm anxiously awaiting to see + hear about them.
A little glimpse in to a sweet shoot last weekend... I'm so thankful for diversity in stories but the one that is centered around young love and a long history makes my heart glad. These two met in middle school.... -karen
