Garden of the Gods engagement photography session by Laura Klassen of Elan Photographie StudioRead More
Come Cinco De Mayo, these two are starting the rest of their lives together in a whole new way. I'll get to be there with Steph to document the whole thing. I met Claire almost three years ago at her best friends wedding. Such a dream. She stood out to me in the midst of the bridal party. She was quiet with the sweetest spirit surrounding her. She was methodical and careful in her attentiveness for her sweet best friend who was marrying that day. I didn't hear her say much but was so drawn to her. When I heard that she was engaged and would possibly be reaching out to me?! Butterflies!
Meeting Shawn at this shoot a few weeks ago was so much fun. He's funny, carefree and talkative.. I asked them to go further down the road while we were in the Red Rocks and he grabbed Claire's hand and started running, so eagerly. It felt like I was photographing school kids, smiles, laughter, tickles, kisses and chasing one another. The way Claire adoringly gazes at Shawn and how he totally soaks it up is my favorite. I cannot wait for their Manor House wedding just around the corner. xx- km
I GUSH for these three.... soon to be four. Oh my! If you took a peek at their engagement session a several posts back you're familiar with my affinity for them.
I was so honored to document their day. I've looked forward to this wedding (secretly) for years. I only hoped that they'd ask me to and when they did? LEAPS for joy! And it didn't disappoint. Their day was filled with calm and readiness. Every detail was so intentional and every person that attended was overflowing with love, support and goodness for this couple. I hope these images spark all of romantic feels in you.
Jess, Jeff and Colton... I hope that when you dig through these images you're reminded of the sweet moments that filled the day.. I hope you're reminded that it was all worth waiting for and I hope that Colton looks back and thinks about how wonderful his parent's sweet wedding day was. That it was as much about him as it was the two of you. The love the three of you share is unique and will be increased so beautifully by that baby girl you're growing. Love to you! xx- karen
I think I'm in love with their day as much as they're in love with one another. It was quaint, intentional, full of meaningful conversation, smiles and kindness. I am delighted to share a snippet of their beautiful day here for you... just to keep you curious.
Cheers, sweet friends.
...Middle school for her, high school for him - this is where they met... End of high school for her and the start of college for him - their paths crossed and things progress. They're young, in love and ready for the life length of sweet marriage NOW. These two were a gift to spend time with an so easy to photograph. Cody is quiet and steady and Kylie is saucy and head over heels. It's like, they cannot get enough of one another! Their conversation's are drenched in support and inclusion of one another. Couples drenched in sweetness are my favorite to catch a glimpse of and spend some quality time with.
A few shots during a little cocktail hour and I learned that they're off to elope in November. With a small group of family and a few friends supporting them in Breck, I love that their focused on the sweetness of the vows and the significance that they offer alone. Honeymoon? They're jumping on a plane to explore the beauty of Thailand. So many adventures ahead and I'm anxiously awaiting to see + hear about them.
